Ask Me Why The Seagulls Cry
They watch us walk together, hand in hand,
The gold dust underneath our feet, no longer sand.
The gentle ocean breeze whispers your name to me, and mine to you.
Above the seagulls circle - a most fantastic view!
We climb the jagged, black, wet rocks, our kingdom you proclaim.
And now you crown us King and Queen, the ocean our domain.
They watch me walk alone now, my head held low.
The sand is merely sand, where did the gold dust go?
The gentle ocean breeze forgets our names now, and sings, instead, a sad, sad song.
I climbed the jagged, black, wet rocks, our lovely kingdom - gone.
Now - ask me why the seagulls cry.
