Friends.
- A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
- A person whom one knows; an acquaintance.
- A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause; a comrade.
- One who supports, sympathizes with, or patronizes a group, cause, or movement: friends of the clean air movement.
That's how it is described in the dictionary. Short and simple.
Yet in reality, it's not that simple at all.
Who do we regard as a friend? Just someone we know? What of that person we know that makes the both of us friends? The person's name? Life? Likes?
If you look at it in a way, the word "Friends" can never be explained through words.
What I feel a friend is, someone whom I'm comfortable to be with and talk to, without restraining my real self. Someone whom I could just be me and not worry about him or her being annoyed, irritated, disgusted, etc. Vice versa. We enjoy each other's company. That's what I call a friend.
After what had happened to a few friends of mine and what they've been through with their friend, it makes me think about my circle of friends. There are people I would rather avoid, whereas there are people I would love to meet everyday. Sometimes you can't avoid them so you'll just have to adapt to it. Tolerate it. Patience play a very important factor. As for the people I love to meet, well, they're just lovely bunch of people.
So much to say, yet none spoken.
